Oct. 30 Leadership Rally in Knoxville

The District’s annual Leadership Rally would be a bargain at any price, but it’s a real steal from now until September 18th, when the discounted registration fee of $55 is in effect. Add that to the Knoxville Downtown Holiday Inn’s special rate of $112, valid until Sept. 29 with reference code PRS, and you’ve got a professional development deal that can’t be beat.

So if you’re stepping into a new leadership role in your chapter – or maybe just thinking about it – give this meeting some serious consideration. During the jam- packed, one-day session, you’ll learn about PRSA and its resources, what leadership opportunities are available and how you can get plugged in.  PLUS you’ll meet other chapter and district leaders, share best practices and take home ideas that will help your chapter thrive.

The 2016 PRSA Southeast District Conference will be held at the Holiday Inn Downtown in Knoxville, Tennessee, on April 6-8, 2016. The conference theme, “The Personal Side of PR: Where Connecting With People Can Change Your Trajectory,” describes the meeting’s two-track focus:

  1. Personalizing communication efforts towards an individual consumer or audience in order to grow a market or increase your outreach
  2. Your personal public relations path (e.g., just entering the industry, reinventing yourself in a new way, or returning to the public relations industry)

The roster of speakers is being finalized now, and conference registration will open in October.

PRSA is working with the Arthur W. Page Center on research to better understand PR executives’ readiness to respond to ethical issues in the workplace. A random sample of 5,000 PRSA members will soon receive an email invitation with a link to the 10-15 minute survey. A drawing for four $50 gift cards will be offered to participants.
