June 3-5
It’s Closer Than You Think!
Mark your calendars and plan to attend the SE District’s Spring Conference in Greenville, SC, June 3-5. Inspiring speakers, informative work sessions and invaluable networking are on tap for “Find Your Story.” Early bird registrants through the end of February receive a $50 discount. Just go to www.prsasoutheast.org/districtconference and use the promocode: LOVESCPRSA
A joint effort of the District’s eleven chapters, the Spring Conference offers a low-cost, professional development opportunity that’s close to home. As the date draws closer, planners ask your help in making this conference the best ever.
- Publicize the conference within your own chapter. You’ll find sample Facebook posts and a newsletter article on the SE District’s website.
- Suggest sponsors to help defray costs. At least one sponsor from each chapter would go a long way toward expenses. Remember, sponsors’ names will get in front of conference attendees as well as 2500 Southeast chapter members via this newsletter. (Be sure to let Karen Potter know your sponsor ideas so we can keep track. If you prefer, send Karen the potential sponsor and contact person, and she’ll make the call.)
- Gently arm twist a Chief Marketing Officer. We’re looking for up to four CMOs from companies in our region to serve on a panel. Can you scout a good candidate and let us know?
SE District Offers Scholarship
to June Conference
For the first time, the Southeast District will offer financial help to a district chapter member to attend the district’s spring conference. The Mitch Edwards Scholarship, funded in part by the Volunteer Chapter to honor former District Chair and Alabama Chapter President Mitch Edwards, will pay the $299 registration fee for the 2015 conference. Mitch passed away suddenly in December at the age of 47.
Details about the scholarship plus the application form are found on the District website. The application deadline is March 15.
New Website Resources Available
If you haven’t been to the PRSA Southeast District website lately, check it out! You’ll find information about the SE District Conference, a listing of all Best Practices Calls for 2015 and a Master Calendar of important dates for the District and all eleven chapters.
